On December 27, Wuhu Municipal Government and Diamond Aircraft and Austro Engine signed a contract of cooperation. Wuhu Diamond Aeroengine Co., Ltd. was established.

Wuhu Diamond Aeroengine Co., Ltd. exhibited its products for the first time at the 10th Airshow China.

Construction of the company's factory began, rooted in the Wuhu Aviation Industrial Park in Anhui Province.

WDAE signed a cooperation agreement with CAAC AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATION CENTER, and the center sent its staff to provide on-site guidance; the design and airworthiness work of the engine was started.

On November 8, AE300 engine obtained the Prodution Certificate (PC) issued by the CAAC, filling the production gap of general aviation engine products in China's general aviation field.

The airworthiness validation work was fully completed in 2020 after the AEC 2.0L engine Type Certificate application was formally accepted in 2019.

The review and approval of all airworthiness plans were completed, and the review of the AEC 2.0L engine project began.

China's first aviation piston engine electronic control unit has passed its airworthiness tests. This is the first domestically developed EECU for this industry of China.

On July 5, AEC2.0L received the Type  Certificate (TC) issued by CAAC. on August 31, the first engine was delivered to the customer.

On April 12, AEC2.0L engine received the Production Certificate (PC) issued by CAAC.
